On desktop, our organic search results may appear at the top of the page, or at the very least on the screen on which you are looking. On mobile however, the very same result is often a long scroll down the page. With 4 paid advertisements taking up the most valuable screen real estate on your phone, the hard work put into organic search all but disappears from view.

This article explores how Google have begun experimenting with a Mobile-first search index. Although Google still typically looks at the desktop version to evaluate relevant content for the user, their goal is to provide a great search experience from any device, including mobile.
